Golden

Classes started today! And so did my new job in the school office. It was a fun day!

I wore this really flowy (and red) outfit today because I wanted to be cool and comfy for classes and work. It has been SO hot and humid these past few days! And it worked pretty well; I was comfy enough and as cool as could be hoped :o)

I got this dress from Maurices a few weeks ago, and I love it. It's so feminine. Its only fault is the spaghetti strap sleeves (or lack thereof, heh). I love pairing it with this button down shirt (and sweaters, as weather allows) because the effect is so breezy and relaxed. The dress is too short for comfort but some black leggings create a chic, girly, and modest look. :) Leggings are also super comfortable.

Dress, Button down shirt, Earrings, Leggings, and Purse: Maurices
Tan flats: Payless
Celtic Necklace: Mission Passport

And by the way, this is Amanda, my friend, roommate, and photographer! We had a lot of fun taking pictures on campus in the golden light of the evening. It was a perfect night! :o)

Have a great week everyone!

Red

Dress: Thrift Store
Jacket: Sears
Shoes: Sears
Earrings: Gift

Hi! ♥

I've never really been much of a red wearer, but Maria got this dress at the thrift store and didn't like the way it looked on her so she gave it to me and I actually like it a lot! It is seriously THE most comfortable dress ever. And the polka dots on the jacket make the outfit more patterny and interesting. It can also be worn into fall because the colors are very fallish. I would just change the sandals out for boots. I can't wait until boot season!! About one more month. Oh and the adorable, sparkly bow earrings are from my lovely friend Hannah as a graduation present. She knows my style so well.

This week is my last full week of summer. My last full time work week and then I start school. I have so many feelings; mostly excited, nervous, happy, a little sad that highschool is over... one year from now I know my life will be completely different. I can't wait to see where I am, who I'm friends with, etc.

Hope you had a lovely weekend!

All the Colors of the Wind

Dress: Eshakti
Shoes: Sears
Jewelry: Etsy

Hey! ♥

I love how many colors are in this dress! It is by far the most colorful thing I own and it's perfect for summer, but I also wear it a lot in the fall with a cardigan or sweater and cute boots. I also like all the details on this dress, like the ruffle at the bottom and all the buttons and collar. And because of the tribalish print, it always reminds me of Pocahontas for some reason.

Today was my track banquet. I had a lot of fun in track this year, even though I missed a lot of practices and meets. When I'm there at track running with all my team, we all really bond because we are all working really hard running and sweating together in the heat. I love that feeling. Even though I'm not the fastest runner, I actually have learned to love running this year and that was my ultimate goal. I'm going to continue running through college and I will hopefully find some buddies to help motivate me!

Chicago Love

We have so many sunflowers!! I love them! They're so cheery and happy and yellow!
Dress: Mikarose
Belt: Mikarose
Shoes: Sears
Bow Headband: Claires
Jewelry: Gifts

Hello! ♥

This was one of my very first dresses. I've had it for several years and it's still one of my favorites. I bought it for a dance and everyone told me how much they liked it and how pinteresty it looked and it made me so happy and I swore from there on out that I would wear more dresses. I love how modest it is without being dorky or weird looking. The lace part at the top makes it so pretty!

I just got back from a week long vacation in Chicago! I stayed with my aunt and uncle and a bunch of my cousins. My youngest baby girl cousin is the cutest thing ever! She's almost 1 and she claps whenever someone says "Yay!" and she dances to music. She wears THE most adorable dresses ever; like seriously I would wear one of her dresses if they had it in my size. And she loves me a ton; her and I had an awesome time playing songs on the piano together.

We did so many fun things. We went to the park, rode scooters up and down the sidewalks, went to baseball games. I finally know all the rules of baseball now. I didn't think I would enjoy watching sports that much, but I got totally into it and was sad when our team lost and it was all over. We also went to an amusement park for two days and those were literally some of the funnest days of this summer. I am a huge huge roller coaster girl and this amusement park had some of the biggest ones I've ever seen. There was a new one that just opened and we had to wait two and a half hours in line, but it was so worth it! The drop was 87 degrees, so it basically dropped straight vertically down! So.much.fun.

Here are a couple pictures from my Instagram. You should follow me: @rosewendt :)

We got mad skills

Walking around Chicago. Love this city!

So wet after the water ride!

One of my wishes came true. I rode in a hot air balloon :)

Hiiiii ♥

This is my new favorite skirt! I just got it from Thredup and I love it like crazy. The print is so feminine and girlie!

I volunteered at a local nursing home with my youth group today. It was my second time going and I am a little bit scared of old people, but I am making myself go because I need to do things that are outside of my comfort zone. I was the girl that helped all the old ladies bowl. I helped get the ramp straight so they could hit the pins when they pushed the ball off. I also helped wheel some of them back to their rooms in their wheel chairs. One of the old lady's name was Annie and as I was bringing her back to her room, she said "I wish you never had to leave. I wish you could stay with me forever. And your dress is so pretty!" I made me tear up. There was another lady named Ruth who told me all about her son Eugene and how she wished he lived closer to her so she could see him more. These people don't have a lot of visitors and it meant so so much to them that we came there and played and talked with them. It was such a little, easy thing for us to do; we were only there for two hours, but it meant the world to these people. I wish I would have started doing volunteer work sooner, but I am definitely going to continue during college.post signature

"Flowers in your hair"

 Shirt: TJMaxx
Belt: Thrift Store
Shoes: Sears
Jewelry: Claires and Etsy
Flower Headband: Claires

Hey there! ♥

This is probably one of my oldest skirts; I have literally had it as long as I can remember. It is still in really good condition though. The print doesn't look faded, but that's probably because the flowers are such bright colors that it would take a long time to look worn out. This shirt is a really unique color blue; I don't have anything else like it, but I really love it. Fake flower headbands have been around a lot this summer and I just bought my first one the other day at Claires. I tried it on and instantly fell in love. It's so girly and feminine and they're fake, so you don't have to worry about them getting yucky and brown like you would if they were real flowers. I will probably go back to and buy all the rest. They have so many! Check them out: flower headwraps.

Oh and I did my nails yesterday! The nail stickers are from Krogers. Literally the easiest things to put on and they actually last a while.
