Robin Eggs

Dress: Eshakti
Shoes: Sears
Earrings: Claires
Flower Headband: Claires

Happy Monday ♥

Every time I wear this dress, it reminds me of my 17th birthday last year. That was the first day I ever wore this dress. I had just gotten it in the mail the night before and I was so excited to wear it. That was the birthday I got my super awesome bike and I was so happy. I really love bike riding! I've had an awesome 17th year; the best year of my life. My birthday is in 6 days and I will be 18 finally!! I'm so excited to make my 18th year even better than last year!

The color of this dress also reminds me of the Crayola crayon "Robin Egg Blue". That was always my favorite color when we would get all our new school supplies at the beginning of the school year.

Hope you had a fun weekend!

Sunkissed

School is almost starting and I am getting pretty excited for that.

My semesters are always very busy so I'm mentally preparing myself for the non-stop rushing that comes with my schedule.

Fortunately, my weekends are nearly completely free this semester which is going to be a huge blessing so that I can relax and get my energy back.

In retrospect, taking pictures near a graveyard might not have been the best idea. I solemnly swear I am not sitting on a grave. It's a concrete slab covering some pipes or something. Not. A. Grave.

This is such a great skirt (thanks, Rose, for the loan!).

Style Inspiration Saturday - Simple Gold Necklaces

So I've had this little necklace with three hearts in different colors of metal (like the one below) for about a year. I've worn it every single day and I love it. It's so simple and pretty. I've never really liked the super big, statement necklaces, so these simple gold necklaces are perfect for me. Have simple jewelry like this helps to still look put together and nice, but still keeps it casual and not over dressed.

Etsy has TONS of things like this; they have simple bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings... You could find some pendant that means something to you and then wear it everyday and it will be so special!

Coffee Shop Chic

I wore this outfit to meet my old out-of-town friend at the coffee shop this morning. It's a simply gorgeous day outside, with tons of sunshine, blue skies, a lovely breeze, and a tinge of chill. Autumn is on its way, which is a tad sad because we didn't even have a decent summer. But I do love Autumn :o)

I love the combination of loose shirt and skinny jeans. It's super comfy and simple, but just add jewelry or a scarf and cute shoes and you've got the perfect casual fall outfit! It's great for transitioning from hot to cool weather.

Mint Tee: Aerie
Ice Blue Crinkle Cami: Maurices
Jeggings: Maurices
Flats: Rue 21
Jewelry: Maurices

I finished the outfit with one of my favorite pairs of flats. I always have a hard time knowing what to put these with. They're adorable but I already have a lot of florals that I wear, and I don't want to over-florify. :o) But this outfit is simple enough (and the mint and dark denim are in the same color family) that the little pops of color in my shoes, necklace, nails, and lips add nice contrast without being over the top. Flats are my favorite, and I love how the red floral pattern adds a bit of fun. Do you have a fun little item that you love to add a pop with? Let me know!

Have a great weekend everyone!

My Favorite Skirt Revealed (And Why I Love It)

Everyone has a favorite piece of clothing. Sometimes it's a dress. Other times, it's a favorite pair of jeans that fit them like a glove.

For me, it's a floral print skirt from Old Navy. It's swishy and feminine and every time I wear it, good things happen.

Are you ready to see it? Scroll down.....

Just kidding. Here's a weird pic of me. You're welcome. Okay keep scrolling....

This is my favorite skirt in the whole world. I LOVE wearing it.

I love it because it's super comfortable. Like I get to wear a silky blanket all day when I wear this skirt. It's also really versatile - most colors go with it. Although, usually I wear a black or white top because that's easy and I'm boring. Having this blog has really pushed me to try new things which is great!

Okay, so I want to hear about your favorite piece of clothing - I know you have one! post signature

How To Get Ready Faster (And Still Look Fabulous!) - A Guide For College Girls

I know how it goes. You wake up and you have to be at your early morning English class in 25 minutes. But you hate starting your day in sweatpants and a hoodie. You want to look fabulous but you don't think you have the time. I am here to tell you you can look GREAT in 25 minutes or less if you focus on these six tips.

1. Make looking good a priority

I always say that the days that you just want to wear sweatpants to class are the days you need to put a little extra effort into looking fabulous. It's good for character and it will turn your day around. So if you really want to look put together and polished during your busy day, you have to make it a priority.

Waking up 15 - 25 minutes earlier than you normally would and putting out that little extra bit of effort can make the difference between a productive, happy good day and a crappy, slouchy day. I can personally guarantee it.

2. Plan outfits ahead of time

I generally don't lay my outfits out on a chair before I go to bed. The only time I would do that is if I am unsure how an outfit will turn out and I can't visualize it it my head.

Usually though, I think about what I have in my closet and what it would go with and plan out my outfits in my head. This is great because then I can wake up and jump out of bed and I know exactly what I want to wear.

Of course, this doesn't always work. There have definitely been those days when I try on seven or eight different outfits and leave the rejects all over my bed and room. Which leads into Tip 3.

3. Try to keep a clean living space

If you're in college, this is probably a dorm. Look, I know it can be super hard to take to clean during your busy semester. In fact, it's basically impossible. I'm a naturally messy person, I should know.

The way I combat messiness is by owning less things. Anything I don't use frequently, I just throw away or donate. This eliminates clutter and makes the room seem clean and empty. The only other tidying thing I do is try to make my bed everyday but that sometimes doesn't happen.

The reason I bring this whole issue up is because clean living space makes for much calmer and easier getting ready. Think about it, if you know where everything is, you won't have to spend time looking for it.

4. Keep a simple makeup routine

The secret to a simple makeup routine is a good skin routine. As long as your face is fairly clear and acne-free, you really don't need a lot of makeup.

Click here to see my simple yet very effective skin routine.

My quick makeup routine is normally just foundation, eyeliner and mascara. It takes ten minutes tops and Rose is even faster at it then I am.

4. Choose simple hairstyles

My hair is totally something I wish I did more with. I am sooo boring when it comes to my hair - it's either down, in a high ponytail or a messy bun. Once in a blue moon, I'll french braid it. These simple variations do have their advantages though; I can do my hair in five minutes or less.

If you are trying to rush to class, it's probably not a good idea to start making plans to try some crazy-fancy braid combination you saw on Pinterest. I would love to learn how to do more things with my hair, and I plan on it, but if I'm in a rush, I stick to the basics.

5. Pack your backpack the night before

Imagine this scenario: you're rushing to class and scrambling to get everything together and yourself ready and class is in six minutes and you grab your backpack and rush out of the dorm. Once you're sitting in class, proud of yourself for actually making it in time, and your professor asks you to turn in your paper that is due. You reach into your backpack and freeze. You forgot to put it in your backpack because of the morning rush. End Scenario.

I don't know about you, but personally I am much more able to remember to pack things like papers due, important textbooks, etc, the night before. I try to put everything that I am going to need for the next day in my backpack the night before. That way I don't forget anything I need the next morning.

6. Take advantage of less busy days

Less busy days are the days you might want to wash your laundry, iron anything that needs to be ironed (ain't nobody got time for that!) and do longer, high maintenance things like plucking your brows or trimming your nails.

For me last year as a freshman, my less busy day was Sunday. I would wash, dry and put away all my laundry (ick!), pluck my brow, paint my nails and do a deep cleaning of my room. I would also go through my backpack and throw away any papers, notes or handouts I no longer needed.

This was a great way to take advantage of the quieter days when I had less going on.

Wrapping things up, these are my six tips I have personally used to get ready with more speed in the mornings. I'm always in love with people that share even more time savers - do you have any? I'd totally love it if you left a comment telling me!

Coral and Navy

Hey everyone! My name is Hannah. I've known Maria and Rose for about two decades. It's been tons of crazy fun!

Today I wore one of my favorite outfits and color combinations: a navy tee and coral pants!

When I was working my first job (as a barista at the local coffee shop), there was a girl who worked there (and who is now my friend) who always wore pink pants with her coffee shop-issued uniform tee shirt. While the rest of us were going around in bleach-spotted khakis and stained black slacks, she was little miss sunshine in her pink pants. It was kind of inspiring.

So, when I found this pair in my size on sale at Maurices (where I now work and consequently buy most of my clothes), I thought I'd give them a whirl. I LOVE PINK PANTS! They are perfect for warmer weather and add such a whimsical touch to any wardrobe. All my capris tend to be either denim or khaki, and these pink pants break up the monotony.
They are cropped pants, so if I roll them up a bit they come about midway between my ankle and knee. They are casual, but dressy. They are flattering, but comfortable.
In a nutshell, They are so fun!

Here is my curly hair in all its glory. (Humidity is all the rage.)

At work today I paired them with a navy camisole and navy tee. Navy blue is an awesome color to pair with bright coral pants. The darker color tones the brighter one down, so you can still have fun but not go crazy :). This is great news for someone on the fashion-shy side, like me. A scarf adds some interest and pulls all the colors together. For work I also accessorized with plain brown flats and navy blue dangling earrings.

When I went to work, it was a bright sunny morning. When I got out (and took these pictures), it had begun to rain.

So this is what I would have worn to work, if I'd known it was going to rain :o). I just threw a scarf and trench coat over the outfit. Rainy days have a way of making you feel so classy!
